CIDE hosts annual international symposium to exchange knowledge and experiences of scholars and professionals in the field of international development cooperation.
Evaluation Forums and Invitational Seminars are also held to provide opportunities for in-depth discussion on the various topics in the field.
International Symposium
Featuring various development program professionals, the ‘International Symposium’ addresses the latest development and challenges regarding ODA evaluations. The International Symposium were held with the agenda of ‘Building an Evaluation Framework for ODA in Asia—Theory and Practice’ in 2014, and ‘Major Trends of ODA and its Evaluation in East Asia: China, Japan and Korea’ in 2015.

Monthly Evaluation Forum
Through monthly ‘Evaluation Forum,’ extensive knowledge and experiences of hands-on experts are shared under the overarching theme of development cooperation and evaluation. Project evaluation managers, officers of related institutions, researchers and students are expected to participate in the events. The forum comprises a presentation and panel discussion on the issues of international development evaluation, including development governance, effectiveness issues, and other practical issues that surround development cooperation evaluation. Invitational Seminar
‘Invitational Seminar’ promotes the in-depth discussion on various topics incorporating theory and practice aimed to improve understanding of the realities of development cooperation and evaluation. Project evaluation managers, officers of related institutions, researchers and students are expected to participate in the seminars. The agendas for the seminars are selected to yield better understanding of theories and practice of project evaluation.
